Role of the centre
E-CLIC Wilhelmshaven will start a participation process with major industry actors will implement projects for testing broadband access and services.

The main focus of the projects within the centre will be on broadband infrastructure for new media services and the business models behind it. Sustainability concepts for decentral processing, usability within the scope of e-government and demographic change will be key elements of the E-CLIC. A key aspect will be the interactiveness between the services in urban regions and the services in rural areas – new services e.g. in the e-health or e-government sector will be used more in rural than in urban areas.
To get an idea which impacts new services will have in rural areas, and how to solve the broadband access problems, not only focussing on access but more on sustainability in services and e-community, the German Association for Digital Economy will support the German E-CLICs, with information and networking all over the North Sea Region.
